### A Fun Day at Fantasy Books and Games: Our First Pairs Competition!

My husband and I don’t usually compete together, but we recently had a great time at a pairs competition held at Fantasy Books and Games in Metro East St. Louis. This fantastic store has been a staple in the area for over 41 years, offering a wide variety of fantasy books and games that cater to all interests.

What impressed me the most was their recent expansion of retail space, which now features a huge open area perfect for hosting different leagues and tournaments. Though I’m not well-versed in many of the role-playing games they feature, it’s clear that they’ve created a vibrant community for gaming enthusiasts.

On the day we visited, they organized a pairs speed puzzle competition, and I’m so glad we decided to join in! We tackled the Buffalo Games Umbrella Spectrum puzzle—stay tuned for a full review of that in a separate article.

To our surprise and delight, we clinched first place! Our reward? A gift card that we happily used to purchase some Pokemon cards—definitely a win in our books.
